Swatch filed an opposition to the Apple trademark iWatch

You may have an Apple watch, but did you know that that Swiss giant Swatch filed an opposition to the Apple trademark iWatch in April 2014? After initial reservations, Apple launched the ‘‘Apple Watch’ in 2015.

Swatch has been persistent and the battle continued for well over 2 years until this month when the IPO upheld that the iWatch was too similar to Swatch’s own version ‘iSwatch’. With two high profile companies battling this out, the legal fees are already stacking up, but as Apple have already vowed to appeal, we may not have heard the last of this.
